The 6 week countdown to the festival has begun with the annual tree dressing of the great oak at Glemham Hall.

The  tradition  began in 2013 when Phillip Hope-Cobbold, the owner of  Glemham Hall, presented the FolkEast team with the challenge of covering the oak at the front of the estate  from an idea he had seen in an art exhibition. The covered tree he had seen in a photograph was 6ft tall. The Great Oak on the estate was somewhat bigger. 65 foot.

Well, the team can never resist a challenge …. and so it began.

A massive thank you to James Parker and Barney Marshall-Potter who kindly give up their weekend to spend two days up among the branches wrapping the tree.
