  • FolkEast moved in the summer of 2025 to the stunning Sotterley Estate, Beccles, Suffolk. https://sotterleyestate.co.uk

  • BY CAR – the roads around the estate are single track and our aim is to make sure that traffic flows smoothly and does not create any issues for our neighbours. Please follow the AA ROAD SIGNS which will be in evidence along the way.

    Please follow the signs to FolkEast.

    All camping (Weekend, Day and Accessible) will be directed to the CAMPSITE GATE

    All Day visitors will be directed to DAY TICKETS

    BY TRAIN – the nearest train station is BECCLES and we hope to be running a free to use bus service for the station to the festival site. Information to follow. 

    BY BICYCLE – the site is on the National Cycle Network, Route 31 and there are secure areas to leave your locked bike at the festival gates . Please note that you cannot cycle in the festival arena.

    BY PLANE – the site is close to the Beccles Aerodrome at Ellough. However, we do not recommend parachuting into the festival!

    WEEKEND TICKETS

    There are four tiers of WEEKEND TICKETS : Super Early Bird (can be purchased on the Sunday of the festival), Early Bird and Advance. Once each tier has sold out, tickets move onto the next tier. A limited number of On the Gate tickets are available if the Advance Tickets have not totally sold out.

    For weekend ticket holders, the arena is open on Thursday evening for a limited programme of events and to access some food and drink on site. Please note that only part of the arena will be open. Day tickets are not available for Thursday evening.

    DAY TICKETS will be available from the website from MAY 2026.

    Day tickets are for the FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY only.

    Tickets can be exchanged for wristbands from 10am each day at the Onsite Day Box Office.

    We use Ticket Tailor as our online ticket provider to keep costs down for you, the ticket buyer. You can either print or present your e-ticket on your mobile device at the festival site Box Office entrance. Your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband. Please make sure that your wristband is easily visible to our gate Staff and Stewards. Wristbands that are removed or fall off need to be brought back to the Box Office for a new one to be issued. If it is lost then I am afraid we cannot replace it.

    Can I stay forever?

    Afraid not, but please do come back next year! Super Duper Early Bird Tickets will be available to purchase onsite from the Box Office on the afternoon of Sunday 23rd August !

  • We are starting afresh on the new site at Sotterley and we still have a lot to learn. The ground is uneven there are mown paths to help with mobility. However, we do recommend that all terrain wheelchairs and mobility scooters are used.

    We are working hard to develop our support for all visible and hidden disabilities.

  • Only Registered Assistance Dogs and Guide Dogs are allowed at FolkEast.

    Non-registered Assistance / Guide dogs are not permitted – even the most well behaved and cutest of our canine friends.

  • The Campsite opens for weekend campers from 2pm Thursday 20th August and closes on Monday 24th at midday. The showers are free to use and are in a main block near the campsite entrance. There are two toilet bocks within the campsite and the fire lanes are well lit with festoons. There is no separate quiet area for campers so please be aware of and respect your neighbour’s space. The Stewarding and Security team are there to help and support you should you have any problems. Please visit our FAQ’s for more information.

    A camping ticket is for the pitch and not per person.

    There are four types of Camping Pitch tickets

    Camping under Canvas Weekend Pitch -TENT ONLY AREA 

    Camping Under Canvas Pitch – a vehicle free zone on the campsite. I x tent per pitch

    Camping under Canvas with Vehicle Weekend Pitch – This ticket allows you to park your vehicle next to your tent. Please Note that once you have parked up, you will not be able to drive off site until you leave the festival. If you wish to leave and return to the festival over the weekend, you will not be allowed to drive your car to your camping pitch and will be asked to park your car in the campsite car park on re-entry.

    Camping on Wheels Weekend Pitch – Standard – up to 20sqm – Caravan, Camper van, Motorhome, live in vehicle. Vehicle movement on and off the camp site during the festival is prohibited.

    Camping on Wheels Weekend Pitch – Large – for caravans, campervans and motorhomes that are larger than 20m2. Vehicle movement on and off the camp site during the festival is prohibited.

    If you are booking a HASSLE FREE TENT with Norfolk Bells, you will need to also purchase a CAMPING UNDER CANVAS & VEHICLE PITCH to secure your place on the campsite. Please quote your camping pass ticket number when booking with the Norfolk Bells.

    Please note that if you would like to camp with a friend or with a group of friends, you will need to come in convoy. Unfortunately, it is not possible to save pitches for friends.Item description

  • NORFOLK BELLS provide the option of camping in one of their lovely bell tents. You can have it naked or with all bells and whistles! The team are on site throughout the weekend to make sure that your camping experience with them is as hassle free as possible.

    If you are booking a HASSLE FREE TENT with Norfolk Bells, you will need to also purchase a CAMPING UNDER CANVAS & VEHICLE PITCH to secure your place on the campsite. Please quote your camping pass ticket number when booking with the Norfolk Bells.

  • Can I have a campfire on the campsite?

    Campfires are not permitted on the campsites but there are fire bowls in the arena at night for all to enjoy. If we have had a particularly dry summer this may not be possible. We will take advice from the Fire Officer nearer the time.

    Can I bring a barbecue?

    Barbecues are allowed as long as they are 60cm off the ground as recommended by Our Fire Officer. Disposable barbecues are not permitted. Please never leave burning coals unattended and make sure you dispose of them responsibly. If we have had a particularly dry summer, barbecues may be restricted. We will take advice from the Fire Officer nearer the time.

    Do you have showers and toilets on the campsite?

    Yes! We have free-to-use showers and ample toilet facilities. There are two blocks of toilets and one large shower block.

    Is electric hook-up available?

    This is a temporary campsite, so there is no electric hook-up.

    Can I camp next to my car?

    There is an area on the campsite which has designated pitches where you can camp next to your car – Camping with Wheels. However, once parked up there is no vehicle movement in the designated area until Monday morning for Health and Safety reasons. If you wish to leave the campsite during the weekend you will not be allowed to drive back onto the campsite and you will be asked to park up in the car park close by.

    Can I leave the site during the festival?

    Yes, of course! We like to encourage people to explore the local area. With your weekend wristband, you can come and go to your heart’s content.

    However, it is important to note that if you are camping on the festival campsite over the weekend, you will need to park your vehicle in the campsite car park at the top of the campsite in order to nip in and out as there is no movement of vehicles on the camping field once the festival is underway. If you do leave your camping pitch during the weekend you will not be allowed to drive back to your pitch and will be asked to park in the campsite car park.

    Can I bring food and drink onto the site?

    You may bring food and drink (including alcohol) into the campsite but please do not bring food or drink (apart from bottled water and perhaps fruit/something to snack on) into the main festival arena. Our aim is to support local food and drink businesses, and we have some lovely outlets. We continue to keep our stall concession prices low to encourage a variety of food and drink at reasonable prices.

    Will I feel safe at FolkEast?

    We are so grateful to the FolkEast community for continuing to create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for all to enjoy. To ensure that FolkEast is a safe and respectful environment for all attendees, artists, crew and staff, we promote a zero tolerance to harassment, discrimination, drugs and violence of any kind. We will always try to work with you to diffuse any situation that arises and have clear, immediate consequences in extreme cases, of expulsion from the site.

    If you have any problems or would like to report an incident, please talk to one of our stewards.

    Although Covid seems a lifetime ago, please respect others’ decisions regarding wearing a mask and distancing. It’s important to remember that some people are more vulnerable and will need to access the event in the way most comfortable for them.

    The campsite closes at midday on Monday 24th August 2026 and once the site is cleared, it will be returned to the wildlife.

  • FolkEast is an independent festival.If you find yourself unable attend this years festival please contact info@folkeast.co.uk before 1st July 2026 to explain the situation for a refund or to carry tickets over to 2027. After this date, we are unable to offer a refund but can arrange for your tickets to be carried over to 2027.

    We do have to be prepared for the worst scenario should it all go the other way between now and August 2026 and the possibility that FolkEast could end up being postponed or cancelled. If this is the case, your tickets will be refunded or, if you would rather, they can be carried over to 2027. Fingers crossed that this will not be the case.
